WELCOME TO COSIGN!

CoSign is a program of the American Sign Museum, that teaches local business districts how to create a strong sense of place with better signage. It’s a program that’s flexible and can adapt to the needs of any community.

Why? Because signage matters - a lot. For a small business, a sign attracts people to a store. For a neighborhood, great signage brings the character of a community to life and establishes a unique sense of place. In the age at-home delivery, local business districts are facing an uphill battle. And, CoSign is an innovative program that utilizes the arts, community engagement and design to meet the challenge and opportunity of enlivening business districts through creative placemaking.

Participants in the program are trained to become local CoSign Project Managers. They learn how to utilize the CoSign Toolkit to facilitate the process and replicate the program back home. The program’s goal is to bring together artists, business owners, and sign fabricators in a meaningful way to enliven a district with great signage.

The CoSign Toolkit includes an intensive training workshop, planning assignments, a step-by-step how-to guide, sign-painters kit, and design templates for project activation. For an even greater CoSign experience, participants can add-on a year of hands-on technical assistance from the CoSign team.
