CoSign Cincinnati paired local business owners with local artists and professional sign fabricators to design and install a critical mass of new storefront business signage in two distinct Cincinnati neighborhoods. CoSign demonstrates the true value of cross-pollination between the arts and small business.
CoSign was designed to be replicated in any community where both artists and small businesses are present. Through the pilot processes, it was determined that three criteria are necessary for a community to best leverage an investment in CoSign:
1. A critical mass of willing small businesses within a defined geographic area.
2. A committed, organized group of residents willing to be supportive of their neighborhood business district.
3. A community character that embraces creative placemaking.
